Micromax Canvas Infinity final round-up: Everything you need to know about Samsung Galaxy S8 replica

It’s a big day for Micromax on August 22, where it will be unveiling its latest smartphone free from bezels to remind buyers that they don’t need to spend top dollar for a premium design. Samsung and LG made an example out of their well-crafted Galaxy S8 and G6 smartphones, and Micromax is challenging these giants.

The first bezel-less smartphone from an Indian brand is being called Canvas Infinity, and it will be the one you cannot turn your heads away from. Micromax has been carefully teasing the new phone through its social media channels without giving away too many details.

Before the official launch of Canvas Infinity, Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma presented the unreleased smartphone to Shikhar Dhawan for winning the man of the match title during the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka 2017 ODI. The phone’s mock-up in the big cardboard form was shown during the ceremony, which aligns with the teasers shared by the company.

Based on the official teasers, it is clear that the Canvas Infinity will feature a bezel-less display with an odd 18:9 aspect ratio – something we’ve seen in the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and LG G6. The bezel-less form is quickly picking up as the standard norm among other OEMs, including Apple, which is planning to launch its iPhone 8 without any bezels in September this year.

All of the teasers from Micromax’s official Twitter handle talk about the bezel-less display, which means it will be the main USP for the phone. Take a look at the different ways Micromax has described its Canvas Infinity.

“A day more to go before you witness the limitless world. Are you ready to #ExpandYourView?”

“Are you thrilled to find out what is new and borderless? Stay with us when we unveil a new way to #ExpandYourView.”

“Something exciting is round the corner. Something that will #ExpandYourView. Your wait will be over tomorrow.”

“It’s bezel-less, It’s limitless. It’s your access to #ExpandYourView. Find out more tomorrow.”

“The wait to have a dose of full vision entertainment is almost over! Find a way to #ExpandYourView tomorrow!”

“Does infinity intrigue you? Does reality without boundaries seem exciting? Only a day more to go before you get to #ExpandYourView!”

As for the specifications, Micromax has maintained a tight lid on them but the wait is almost over. Rumours have suggested that despite the premium design for the Canvas Infinity, the smartphone will be priced competitively. It is possible that the phone will cost around Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 in India, making it a direct rival to handsets from brands like Xiaomi, Motorola, Samsung, LG and others.
