The much awaited Reliance Jio feature phone that supports 4G VoLTE is likely to be unveiled this month and the price tag could be just Rs. 500. The report surfaced in a research note by HSBC analyst Rajiv Sharma.
According to an Economic Times report, the HSBC research note says the Jio 4G VoLTE feature phone will be subsidized roughly between Rs. 650-970. The feature phone is expected to be launched under the Lyf brand. The phone will, however, not hit the market before mid-August.
There are rumors that with the feature phone, Reliance Jio could launch more aggressive priced tariff plan. Reports say new Jio plans could be priced at Rs. 80-90.
This week, Jio launched a new offer giving its customers 224GB of 4G data for the new buyers of JioFi device.
While details about the feature phone is yet to be confirmed, rumors say the Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE feature phone will come in two variants: one with a Qualcomm processor and the other with a Spreadtrum chip.
The Jio 4G feature phone will have a 2.4-inch display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD card support, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC. With 4G VoLTE support, buyers will be able to access digital content with the help of the free subscription to Jio apps.
